I thought I'd do a Q&A for myself - so that potential clients, or people who read can get to know me a little better! So here we go.
1. What did you study at uni?
In short (it was a lot!) - BA (Sociology)/BSci (Psyc)
Grad Cert (Social Development and Change
MA (Sociology)
2. When did you start photography?
I thought it would be cool to be a photographer after I got married. I had always enjoyed it, and had taken a few photography classes at uni, (mostly film). I learnt exposure and composition there! After practicing at any event, and every family member I could rustle up, I got asked to shoot a friends wedding. It was a very low key event – but so beautiful. From there I practiced at many weddings, and was slowly asked to do a few more. I have now been shooting weddings for 5 years now!
3. What is your nickname?B. I repeat, I liked being called "B" (pronounced Bee). Haha!
My friends never called me Beth when I was little, and I don’t actually like being called Beth! It’s just not me! I was actually once at a wedding, and the groom was thanking “Beth” for all her hard work – I didn’t realize he was talking about me!!!
4. When did you get married?
I got married in 2005! I was 21 and looking back I can’t believe I got married so young! I was just a baby!
5. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
I’m kinda embarrassed by this! I thought it would probably be either Roslyn (BonIver) – which is what I listen to when I need to chill, or Take Heart (Hillsong) – which is my favourite “courage” song. But it’s actually “New Moon” from the Twilight album!!!
6. What sound do you love?
I love the sound of rain on the roof. I love the sound of a well played piano. I love the sound of my shutter on my camera. I love the sound of hymns.
7. What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
I love winter, I love early mornings (if I don’t have to get up!), I love Mondays (my day off) and I love May.
8. What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
I cried in “The Help”. I cried when reading “the Hunger games” and I cried watching an episode of 7th Heaven the other day. This is not the best question for me. I cry a lot! :)
9. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
I think I would choose to be 16. I had so much confidence in myself then, and I cared less about what people thought. Sometimes I wonder how it’s possible I’m still the same person! :) Maybe nostalgia makes me forget how awkward I really was… probably!
If you have any more original questions, feel free to ask! :)
And just because every post is better with a picture...
